Here is a post from last National Adoption Month – too good not to share again. Enjoy! “There will be plenty of times as a parent when you’re tired or sick or had a long day that when your kid says “Hey, Mommy, come see this!” you hesitate. I’m so glad I didn’t hesitate.
I walked into Joey’s room to find him adorably bundled up in his bed cuddled with one very special stuffed animal. As Joey does with just about every toy, he asks “Who got me this?” My eyes lit up and my smile widened because right then and there I got to tell a little bit of our journey to each other. The giraffe in this picture is the first and only thing we allowed ourselves to purchase when we made the decision to adopt. While our adoption consultants did a great job coaching us through the uncertainties of adoption, you can’t help but cautiously believe and dream and pray EVERY WAKING MOMENT that you will become a parent. That little giraffe represented our strong faith that a child was out there and meant just for us. So here you have it in one little snapshot of a moment I’ll never forget…the beginning of my faith and hope of a miracle being held by the very miracle himself. “
