I have an interesting perspective on how AIS can help prospective adoptive families because I work as the Marketing Coordinator and Administrative Assistant at AIS. Thus, I get an up-close view of what the Team does for our clients. AIS is a small, boutique consulting group that represents adoptive parents on their journey. They work with many well-respected adoption agencies and attorneys across the country to help connect potential adoptive parents with birth mother referral opportunities. AIS has worked with most of these referral sources for many years and has cultivated deep and meaningful relationships with each one. The trust that is built between AIS and these agencies is immeasurable. Because of this, they can connect clients to not just one agency, but many prospective agencies and birth mothers.
Since AIS keeps a smaller client base, the team can go more in-depth with each family to ensure that they understand all the details in the adoption process and walk right alongside the family during this roller coaster journey. This entails many hours of talking through the process and working to make sure that each family has a wonderful adoption profile book to present to prospective birth moms. Leigh and Heather work tirelessly looking at photographs and editing text for each client. They want to ensure that our clients have the best presentations and are a step ahead in gaining the attention of birth mothers.
One exceptional thing I have noticed while working at AIS is that our consultants are available to our clients literally 24/7. They never hesitate to give out their cell phone numbers, answer calls at any time of the day or night, and answer texts and emails swiftly. I have listened to them talking to clients during crisis situations. Our consultants are so compassionate and loving with our families. Each of them truly looks at our clients as family and worries and frets right along with them. The joy that they feel when a family is matched and when they take their baby home is so genuine.
All of this is amazing enough, but I want to emphasize the depth of knowledge that this team has regarding adoption. Marcia, the owner, has been doing this for almost 30 years and Leigh has been working in this field for about 15. Heather keeps very up-to-date on the laws of adoption in each state and does a ton of research to keep our clients current. In addition to their work experience, each of them is an adoptive parent – so they have gone through the process themselves and understand what you will be going through!
They have learned about how drug addiction affects children, what to look for in a potential birth mother and some of the warning signs that a situation may not be all it seems and how to navigate the ups and downs that come with the adoption process.
So, if you’re thinking about using an Adoption Consultant service, I hope I’ve given you a little inside peek at what AIS does and how they can better serve you.
