Preparing for your little one is an exciting time for parents. We want to “nest” and get the nursery ready and we want to purchase everything we could possibly need for the first year. However, while we encourage our clients to get excited and celebrate the joy of becoming parents, we discourage you from creating a full nursery or having baby showers because there is always the possibility of a failed adoption. Wait until you are home with your baby before planning any celebrations. There are a few things you will need before traveling to meet your baby. Below is a list of things we recommend you get in preparation for his/her arrival.
- Car Seat
- Diaper Bag
- Baby wipes & a few newborn diapers
- Diaper rash ointment

- One special outfit in case hospital photos are taken

- Receiving blankets
- Onesies or simple clothing
- Socks/booties
- Soft baby hat
- Swaddling blanket
- Sleepers or drawstring nightgowns – 4 to 6
