Leigh McMinn
Leigh has been a part of the AIS team since November 2004. She and her husband Greg were clients of AIS when they adopted their newborn son Nathanael in May 2004.
Through her own adoption experience and relationship with her son’s birth mother, Leigh is able to help potential adoptive parents understand the emotional aspects of adoption for everyone involved. She counsels and guides each AIS client as they navigate the steps to completing a successful adoption.
Her degree in journalism and family and consumer sciences and her background in editing and photojournalism give her the knowledge to assist families in sharing their personal stories with birth parents through their profiles.
Heather Ekstrom
Heather joined the AIS team in August 2016. She and her husband Peter adopted their son and daughter as clients of AIS. Their son Zack was born in the fall of 2001 and was placed with them through domestic adoption. In 2005, their daughter Anna joined their family through international adoption from Guatemala.
Having had the unique experience of adopting both domestically and internationally, Heather has insight on how different every adoption journey can be and how we can best meet the individual needs of our clients.
Heather is constantly coming up with ways to make our team more efficient so that we can better serve our clients. She shares her exceptional gifts in organization, technology, and thinking-outside-the-box with our AIS team. She is filled with ideas for making our processes more efficient and helping our team to better serve our clients.
